We all have to become ambassadors of Croatian products

first_imgTwenty years have passed since the initial idea launched by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, with the aim of creating a visual identity of quality Croatian products and services based on many years of experience and knowledge and research and development, invention, creation and tradition. In cooperation with companies holding quality labels, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce promotes and raises consumer awareness of the quality of Croatian products and services that are visually recognizable by the quality labels “Croatian Quality” and “Originally Croatian”. It was with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of buying domestic products that an action was launched Let’s buy Croatian, which is being held today and tomorrow in Zagreb on Ban Josip Jelačić Square.”On the list of recognizable qualities of Croatia, we must not forget our work, skill, creativity and our knowledge that has been translated into a top product or service. We should be equally proud of the olive oil and cheese and the football goal. We all know how difficult it is to be an entrepreneur and place any product on a highly competitive market. All the exhibitors present here, and there are more than 300 of them, have succeeded in this and we congratulate them from the bottom of our hearts. But even they cannot move forward alone, so I call on all Croatian citizens to become ambassadors of the Let’s Buy Croatian campaign.”, Said the President of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce Luka Burilovic. The latest HGK survey showed that 78 percent of citizens take care of buying Croatian products when they go shopping, and as many as 86 percent of them are willing to spend more kuna for a quality domestic product. Plan to keep kiwi kids safe

first_imgDominion Post 26 January 2012Average Kiwi families could be subject to greater state scrutiny if proposed rules around mandatory reporting of suspected child abuse are introduced. A Families Commission report, released today, says agencies’ inadequate systems are putting vulnerable children at risk. It calls for better information-sharing between government departments and enhanced reporting by health professionals to safeguard at-risk children. But it also suggests controversial new measures that could expose innocent mums and dads to greater government intervention if child abuse is suspected. More than 22,000 children suffered emotional, physical and sexual abuse, or neglect, in the last financial year. Every year an average of 10 children die at the hands of their family or carers.THE NUMBERS22,087 – Findings of emotional, physical and sexual abuse and neglect by CYF in the past financial year.5020 – Children and young people in the custody of the department’s chief executive for care and protection at June 30, 2011.4238 – Children in out-of-home care in 2010.45 percent – The proportion of children in care with siblings who had previously been removed from their parents.http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/6314580/Plan-to-keep-Kiwi-kids-safelast_img read more

Daniel Sturridge will give Liverpool their ‘fear factor’ back, warns Henderson

first_imgLiverpool skipper Jordan Henderson has warned their Premier League rivals that Daniel Sturridge is ready to give the Reds their fear factor back. The midfielder also insisted England striker Sturridge has been hurt by the criticism he has received during his injury-hit season.Sturridge opened the scoring in his first Premier League start since October as Liverpool thumped Aston Villa 6-0 on Sunday. It was the first time the 26-year-old had started under Jurgen Klopp after a knee injury, foot issue and hamstring trouble and Henderson feels he gives the Reds an extra dimension. “He definitely gives us that fear factor back. Any central defender playing against him will be wary,” he said.“They know how quick he is, how sharp he is with the ball. He can cause anyone problems and I’m sure any centre-half in the world would be worried about coming up against him.“I’ve known Studge for years and I am quite close to him. I have been with him a lot while he has been out. You have to understand he has been more frustrated than anyone at being out.“There is a lot gets said about him outside of our group. I know it hurts him and I know it is hard for him to take. He is doing things to try and get back. He doesn’t want to be injured. He is more annoyed than anyone that he isn’t playing. But now he is back, he has got a smile on his face and he has been world class.”James Milner, Emre Can, Divock Origi, Nathaniel Clyne and Kolo Toure scored to condemn Villa to their biggest home defeat in 81 years. Some of the Liverpool squad threw their shirts to the travelling supporters and Henderson said it was reward for their patience during the club’s ticket problems – which fans protest over prices for next season, before the club backtracked. “Over the last couple of weeks it has been a hard time and a frustrating time for the fans. The players appreciate that. Thankfully everything (with the tickets) is sorted now,” he said. “The owners realised they made a mistake and changed it back and that is brilliant for the players because everyone can now just focus on winning games.” Daniel Sturridge 1last_img read more

Young Companies Help the Economy Most

first_imgThis is a pretty impressive summary article on recent studies surrounding the benefits of the start-up community to the economy. This is not new information. I wrote a blog series about 5 years ago detailing how small companies have the natural advantage against the large companies as it relates to innovative technologies, business models, etc. and in my mind the benefits to the economy culminate from this. Young companies simply possess a better opportunity for creating competitive advantage, developing unique business growth strategies, and using better, newer approaches for company development strategies.Joseph Shumpeter popularized the concept of creative destruction six decades ago…it is the new companies who exercise creativity and the old companies who are destructive!I am still amazed that government policies (federal, state, local) do not directly promote new company formation and growth often. Perhaps this message to our leaders will start to resonate?AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to FacebookFacebookShare to TwitterTwitterShare to PrintPrintShare to EmailEmailShare to MoreAddThislast_img read more
