Over 100 lbs of drugs collected Tuesday night

first_imgVersailles, IN — Margaret Mary Health (MMH), the Versailles Police Department, and the Ripley County Drug Awareness Coalition collected 102.4 pounds of unused or expired medications at the drug take-back event Tuesday evening in Versailles.  Almost 247 pounds of drugs were collected from the three events held in Brookville, Batesville, and Versailles to help keep those medications out of the hands of the wrong people.  Collection sites are available throughout the year to get rid of unused and expired medications at MMH, Batesville Police Department, Versailles Police Department, Ripley County Sheriff Office, and Franklin County Sheriff Office.last_img

first_imgBy Rawle Toney in SurinameGUYANA went down 3-1 to Suriname in their opening match in the female footballTiandi Smith – Guyana’s goalscorercompetition at this year’s Inter-Guiana Games (IGG) in Paramaribo.Playing at the Franklin Essed Stadion in front of a vociferous crowd, Suriname found the net through Candy Chin See Chong who netted a double, and Shifana Zesburg.Tiandi Smith scored Guyana’s lone goal in a spirited performance by the visitors.Guyana had several chances but could not convert, owing to Suriname’s stubborn defence.Twelve-year-old Jalade Trim had a sensational performance, but failed to find the net. She won the hearts of the crowd with her skills and speed, since they were amused at her ability for her size.Guyana will have a chance to avenge their defeat tomorrow.last_img read more
