The successfulcandidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.Successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services atother worksites, including but not necessarily limited to, WestVirginia University Hospitals, Inc., West Virginia UniversityMedical Corporation doing business as “University HealthAssociates,” [etc.] located in West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio,Virginia, and Pennsylvania and, as such, travel is anticipated andexpected to fulfill said duties at these other worksites. .Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas ofNeuro Ophthalmology. For appointment at the Associate Professor orProfessor rank, it is expected that candidates sustain anoutstanding, extramurally supported research program.Responsibilities will include providing excellent patient care aswell as teaching medical students and ophthalmology residents andfellows. Knowledge of working with ROP, adult strabismus and apediatric cataract is important. Opportunities exist to participatein clinical and translational research.Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreignequivalent and be eligible to obtain an West Virginia medicallicense. Candidates must be board certified / eligible inOphthalmology or Neurology. Candidates must have completed anaccredited ophthalmology residency program and neuro-ophthalmologyfellowship. All qualifications must be met by the time ofappointment.At the WVU Eye Institute you will treat a diverse populationof pediatric and adult strabismus patients and have exposure toclinically challenging cases. Our state-of-the art facility housesall subspecialties of ophthalmology as well as an active researchprogram. This University-based practice is rapidly expanding with avast patient population offering the opportunity to be busyquickly.
