This off-campus positionis tasked with building strong, positive relationships withstudents and their families, managing student behavior duringprogramming, and preparing/delivering academic and enrichmentactivities.Core CompetenciesProfessionalism, Positive Approach, Managing Work, QualityOrientation, Continuous Improvement, Earning Trust,Customer/Student/Employee Focus, Communication, Collaboration,Guiding InteractionsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSPROGRAM SUPPORTAssists in developing, designing and leading program componentsthat result in positive academic and social outcomes forparticipating children. Provides engaging, ongoing opportunitiesfor children to experience success through academic, social andphysical activities. Develops and maintains a safe, supportivelearning environment to achieve positive results. Builds strong,positive relationships with students in ESLAsC programs. Providestime and table management while offering homework and tutoringassistance. Creates and maintains discussions for program andstudent improvement.CUSTOMER SERVICEReports to site on time and prepared, as directed. Modelsprofessional behavior with children, staff, and parents. Assists indeveloping positive and professional relationships with schoolstaff, parents and community. Handles disruptive behavior withrespect, following guidelines, processes and procedures, andreports any issues to Program Coordinator, Site Specialist, and/orParent Specialist for follow-up.CLASSROOM & COMMUNITY SUPPORTAssists with meal distribution, clean-up, and walking home. Attendsschool, community, and student events. Assists in classrooms, fieldtrips and school improvements. Contributes to quarterlynewsletters, as required.Usual Physical Requirements: While performing duties of this job, the employeeregularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data intocomputer. The employee regularly stands and walks for extendedperiods of time, and occasionally sits. Employee converses verballywith others in person and by telephone. Employee occasionallyreaches with hands or arms, climbs or balances and stoops, kneels,crouches or crawls. Vision demands include close, relativelydetailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employeeoccasionally lifts or exerts force of up to 20 pounds when movingfiles, boxes and other materials.Working Conditions: Typical office environment. Regular exposure to moderatenoise typical to business offices.
