Venezuela Detains Spanish National with Cocaine Chocolate

first_imgBy Dialogo March 20, 2013 Venezuelan authorities arrested a Spanish citizen who was carrying a suitcase with ten kilos of cocaine and chocolate infused with the drug at the Maiquetía airport while he was trying to board a plane to Madrid, the Venezuelan government said on March 18. The “Bolivarian National Guard arrested a Spanish citizen carrying about 10 kilos of cocaine in Maiquetía on March 17,” Jorge Galindo, media coordinator at the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, posted on Twitter. The unidentified Spanish citizen “was carrying the cocaine in a suitcase with a double bottom, as well as the chocolates infused with the substance,” Galindo added. Venezuela seized 45 tons of drugs in 2012, half of which were cocaine shipments, according to official sources.last_img read more
