first_imgTHE finalists in the 2019 edition of the LIMACOL Football tournament will be decided this evening.The event, which is sponsored mainly by New GPC with support from W.J. Enterprise, will be decided tonight following the conclusion of semifinal fixtures at the Ministry of Education (MoE) ground on CARIFESTA Avenue.The first match blows off at 19:00hrs and the scores of fans, who are anticipated to flock to venue, will see the tournament favourites Fruta Conquerors Under-20 pitted against Riddim Squad.Conquerors have been spearheaded by youngster Nicholas McArthur’s superb form and they will be bankng on him to increase his tally of 10 goals to marshal them into the final.The feature match will be Santos Under-20 against Pele FC. Although Pele have not entered as a youth side into the tournament, their starting XI is mostly comprised of youth players inclusive of target-man Dorwin George, who has been exceptional in front of goal for the Georgetown-based club.The winners of this tournament will pocket $400 000, second $200 000, third $100 000 and the losers of the third-place playoff will walk away with $50 000.last_img read more

Former Syracuse football player Naesean Howard bonded out of jail

first_img Published on April 20, 2016 at 4:27 pm Contact Chris: [email protected] | @ChrisLibonati Former Syracuse football player Naesean Howard, who allegedly stabbed current Syracuse defensive backs Corey Winfield and Chauncey Scissum, has been bonded out of jail, according to the New York VINE service. It was first reported by Stephen Bailey of bond was set at $40,000 and Howard is due back in court by 10 a.m. on Friday. He was accused of stabbing Winfield and Scissum at a party on Saturday at 321 Slocum Drive around 6 p.m.The police arrested Howard on the 1000 block of Ackerman Avenue, but the former football player lives at 450 Slocum Drive.He allegedly stabbed Winfield in the right lower back, upper right chest, left abdomen and left wrist, according to court documents said. Howard then allegedly stabbed Scissum on the right side of his neck, right upper chest, left shoulder and bottom lip. A witness described Howard as being “very determined” and as having “tunnel vision” during the alleged stabbing.
